It started with one very good girl.
Dotty is the inspiration behind everything we do at BatDog. Our beloved black Lab with a gentle soul, she's more than our namesake - she's a certified St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog who brings joy and comfort to people every week.
When we couldn't find treats simple and wholesome enough to be worthy of her, we started baking our own. Friends' dogs approved. Then their friends' dogs. Then a market booth happened… and BatDog Bakery was born.
Baked like it's for family - because it is.
Every treat is baked in small batches with human-grade ingredients you can pronounce: pumpkin, peanut butter, blueberries, oats, carob. No preservatives, no fillers, no mystery meat. If it doesn't earn Dotty's full-body tail wag, it doesn't make the menu.
And gear built for muddy adventures.
Dotty is a Lab. Labs find water. So we started handmaking waterproof Biothane leads and collars that shrug off rain, mud and lake days - a quick rinse and they look brand new. Each one is cut, riveted and finished by hand here in Canada.
